After
completing a 1:60 scale, wooden model that was said to represent the ships used during American Revolution, I decided to build a larger model and display it at local forth of July
events and parades. I contacted the Department of the Navy, Historical Center and was given information
and advice about the Lexington,
one of the first American war ships. Using this information, plans from the small model and other information from the internet
I created a set of 1:22 scale plans for the Lexington.
Construction was started in late January 2005 and was completed in early May.
Now I find that the
local forth of July events and parades all have large entry fees.
